TF2 is now free!

July 14, 2011

Wow, guess who forgot to post this when it was announced about 3 weeks ago? Well it’s actually been so long since I’ve posted that WordPress’ loadout has completely changed. Awesome. So back to the topic, a game I’ve been playing for more than 7 months and have around 850 hours of gameplay time is now free.

Some of you may remember me posting a poll asking if you had Team Fortress 2. The biggest result was that you’d get it later/cheaper. Well now that it’s free, you have no excuse. Basically what I’m going to do is give you an instruction guide on installation and gameplay. This might take a while.

First things first, you’ll need to install a program/online marketplace called Steam from here: http://store.steampowered.com/about/

When that’s done installing, run it and either find TF2 on the Store page or in the ‘search the store’ search bar and click install. This is a fairly big download so make sure you’ve got enough space on your computer/download limit.

Finally, when it’s installed, click on the library tab, then on TF2, then click the Play button.

Be aware that TF2 does have regular updates, so it can chew through your download limit fairly easily if you don’t have much.

Now, Steam also has a friends feature which allows you to keep track of friends and the games they’re playing. To add someone, open Steam and at the bottom right, there should be a friends feature. Click on that, then click ‘Add a friend’. My Steam ID is alphaclank if you want to add me. 🙂

Alright, back to TF2. I recommend doing the tutorials and looking at the options before playing. The tutorials would probably do a better job at explaining the gameplay than me anyway.

If you have got TF2 now that it’s free, you have a free account. There’s absolutely no difference between free and premium except that free accounts can’t get cosmetic items like hats. If you want to collect hats, you can get a premium account by making any purchase from the TF2 store. The cheapest item is a 50c Crit-A-Cola, but since your Steam wallet needs at least $5 in it, I’d recommend either buying 2 keys at $2.50 each or if you’re looking at another game in the Steam store for $4.50 or under, that and a TF2 item. If you’re not sure what to buy, send me a message on Steam (I’m almost always on :P) and I’ll get all the details on your situation to make the best decision possible. If you decide to upgrade, you’ll be asked who helped you the most. If you say I did, I get a free pair of glasses and that’d be appreciated. ;D

When choosing a server, I’d recommend going ‘Random’ in the ‘Start Playing’ section and getting used to different characters and maps, rather than selecting a server from a list. You’ll get used to it. 😛 Also, if I’m in a TF2 game, you can join me by clicking the Join Game button from the arrow of my name. Hope to see you in game!

I think I covered most of the important things. If I forgot something, I’ll make another post. Feel free to ask me any questions through the website or Steam chat. Have fun in TF2!

RynoZodiac’s Awesome Minecraft Map

April 1, 2011

Well I’ve finished another of my assignments, and to celebrate, I decided to try and record my Minecraft map again. So here you go, look at the extent of my imagination and maybe get some ideas for your own world.

Well that’s another task crossed off my list. Maybe the other 2 assignments should be higher up that list…

THIS ALSO COUNTS AS A 40,000 HIT SPECIAL. :3

RZ Chronicles: A Glimmer of Hope… (Page 9)

February 26, 2011

Tommy214: Now when he’s more equipped, he should proceed to the Ski Lodge.

‘I should probably get back to the Ski lodge and get that MP3000 before anyone else gets it, just in case I need it in the future.’ RynoZodiac embarked on his journey back to the Ski Lodge, ready to remove the MP3000 from its case, hoping the Polar Bear wasn’t there. ‘OH WAIT. That case has that 100 stamps lock on it. Guess it’s time to start earning stamps.’ RynoZodiac went on the lookout, looking for a penguin to show him his stamps, so RynoZodiac could do one of the easier tasks 100 times. Eventually, RynoZodiac found a penguin at the Plaza holding a stamp book. ‘Alright, let’s have a look through this.’ RynoZodiac said, as he grabbed the stamp book out of the penguin’s flipper. ‘Hmm, how did you get this one?’, ‘Throw a party for 10 penguins in your igloo.’, ‘HA. I don’t want any of them in my igloo, how about this one?’, ‘Collect all the fuel cans in Jet Pack Adventure.’, ‘Oh, and here I was thinking those fuel cans were just there to try and kill me when I was using a jet pack. Well if these are the easy ones, I have no hope.’, ‘Want to see the hardest stamp I’ve got?’, ‘No.’, ‘I got it from being in the same room as Gary the Gadget Guy!’, ‘…Wait, what?’. With that, RynoZodiac ran off as the penguin continued to talk to himself about his meeting with Gary. ‘GARY.’, ‘AAH!’ RynoZodiac and Gary yelled consecutively. ‘You made me spill my coffee. What is the meaning of this?’ Gary asked, confused and annoyed. ‘Do you have stamps?’, ‘No, I have no need to collect them. They’re for people who have nothing better to do around here.’, ‘No no no, I mean do you hand out stamps when you go outside for research or whatever.’, ‘Ohhhh, yeah. I hand those out to make those annoying mindless zombies go away.’, ‘Good. I need a hundred.’, ‘A hundred?’, ‘Yeah, I need them to buy an MP3000 I may or may not need when I go up to Tallest Mountain.’, ‘Fair enough. Here you go.’ Gary said, slightly confused as he handed RynoZodiac a stack of stamps. ‘Don’t forget that Tallest Mountain is incredibly cold though, you’ll need a hat.’, ‘Funny. Out of all my adventures, I haven’t found one hat.’, ‘Here, take this. I stole it from the Pirate party they had a while ago. Maybe you can exchange it for a hat.’ Gary said as he handed RynoZodiac a black flag with a white Puffle on it. ‘Nah, I’m done talking to the others, I’ll just wear this as a hat.’ RynoZodiac said as he tied the flag around his head to form a bandanna. ‘Alright, I’m off!’ RynoZodiac yelled as he waddled off towards the Ski Lodge. ‘There’s no rush!’ Gary tried to yell in vain. Eventually, RynoZodiac reached the Ski Lodge and the machine that held the MP3000. As he deposited the stamps in to a tiny slot, a counter showed how many had been inserted. 1…2…3… this continued until it reached 99. ‘That goddamn stupid idiot needs to learn how to count!’ RynoZodiac screamed in frustration, annoyed at Gary. ‘Alright, let’s quickly earn a stamp… Oh wait a second!’ RynoZodiac remembered a postcard he had received on his 1st birthday. ‘Didn’t that come with a stamp?’ RynoZodiac pondered as he pulled out the postcard. There he saw the stamp, which he had assumed was used to deliver the postcard. ‘And that makes 100.’ RynoZodiac exclaimed proudly as he inserted the stamp, watched the number tick to 100 and release the lock containing the MP3000. ‘Alrighty, let’s see what we got here.’ RynoZodiac said as he circled through all the applications. In it he saw songs from various parties he’d been to, portable versions of Thin Ice and Astro Barrier, settings to change the colour scheme of the menu and a strange folder. When RynoZodiac tried to access the folder, it requested a password. After trying ‘Penguin’, RynoZodiac gave up. ‘I’m sure it’s not important.’ RynoZodiac said hopefully. Finally, RynoZodiac began his journey up Tallest Mountain. ‘Looks like I’m finally going to get answers.’ RynoZodiac exclaimed, as he reached a large steel gate, blocking his path. As he approached it, he noticed a computer with a keyboard attached to the side of the wall holding the gate. ‘Hmm, looks like I need to input a password.’ RynoZodiac said, as he tried ‘Penguin’ again, which to no surprise, failed. As he looked around for clues, he noticed scratch marks on the wall on the other side of the gate. The markings read ‘The password is Glimmer’. ‘Well that was easy.’ RynoZodiac said, as he entered the password in the computer. INCORRECT PASSWORD. ‘Wait, WHAT? NO!’ RynoZodiac screamed in frustration, as he entered the password repeatedly with different capitalisation, all of them failing. ‘Damn it! Has my journey really come to an end? Why did those markings lie to me?’ RynoZodiac said, as he slumped to the ground, defeated.

What should RynoZodiac do?

Sambalk’s Awesome Prizes

January 17, 2011

As some of you may recall, one of my awesome visitors, Sambalk, won the eleventh day of Lux1200’s 12 days of Christmas Giveaway. Well, I’ve managed to secure EXCLUSIVE pics, straight from Sambalk himself, to share with you! 😀 Let’s have a look at Sambalk’s fantastic prizes, shall we?

Wow, those are some awesome prizes Sambalk! Congratulations, and enjoy your prizes. Make sure to let me know if anything cool happens to you, and chances are that I’ll post them on this site. Either the next Glimmer of Hope chapter or a mini-video is coming next, I haven’t decided which. Maybe I’ll look at some old posts and see if there’s something I used to do that I’ve forgotten. Let me know if there’s anything in particular that you’d like me to bring back.

Team Fortress 2 on sale for $5 on Steam

January 1, 2011

Normally I’d put this sort of stuff in my Twitter feed, but this is kind of important for a reason that will become clear later on. As it says in the title, TF2’s on sale for $5 from $20, so you should definitely grab it before the sale expires. Even if you miss the $5 sale though, it’ll still be $10 from the Steam Holiday Sale, and it’s definitely worth it. If you don’t have Steam, download it here: http://store.steampowered.com/about/ If you already have TF2 and/or Steam, add me here: http://steamcommunity.com/id/alphaclank

To see if it’s worth implementing my idea, please answer this poll. Please don’t answer yes if you don’t have it, unless you’re going to buy it within the next week:

Welcome to 2011!

January 1, 2011

Well I think it’s fair to say that 2010 was a successful one for RynoZodiac’s Awesome Site, with the completion of the Tournament of Gaming Champions, the start of the RZ Chronicles, the introduction of trophies and gaining 15,000 hits in one year! With that said, I’m hoping that 2011 will be even more successful! This year I’ve got parties planned, completion of A Glimmer of Hope and a brand new music video! This’ll be my second music video, and my first using Sony Vegas Pro 9.0, so the video will hopefully be higher quality. Also, I can tell you that it won’t be like any Club Penguin music video yet. It’s a completely new type of music video and the song has never been done by any other penguin. I’m super excited to complete it and I hope you’ll enjoy it! But for now, enjoy the new year and have this trophy. 😀

Guess what? It’s International Free Presents Day! :D

December 25, 2010

One of my favourite days of the year! 😛 Everybody loves free presents, so why shouldn’t my awesome viewers get some free presents from their super sexy friend RynoZodiac? Okay, so maybe I don’t have a zillion dollars like Lux1200, but it’s the thought that counts. 😛 To everyone that visits my site of Christmas Day (and Boxing Day, because I understand that people have lives :P), here’s a sexy trophy for you:

[REMOVED]

Also, to all my friends with a PS3, here’s a code for you to download a game called Polar’s Puzzles for free!

Now, on to other messages. I know that you should have received yesterday’s Glimmer of Hope earlier, and that’s WordPress’s fault. However, having that long of a delay is unforgivable. Or is it? Have a trophy to forgive me. :3

[REMOVED]

Also, it might interest you to know that the second iteration (the one up now) is different from my original, and I think I like it better, so it wasn’t all bad! Next topic, here’s what I got for Christmas: Money, lots of deodorant and shower items, sugar, a new shirt and some laptop accessories. Please tell me what you guys got, I love presents! 😀 And finally, a huge congratulations to Sambalk for winning Lux1200’s 11th day of Christmas giveaways! Make sure to tell us what you won as soon as you get it! 😀

A very Merry Christmas to all my friends, and I hope you all get exactly what you want and more! :3

RZ Chronicles: A Glimmer of Hope… (Page 8)

December 24, 2010

Firegrey: Go to the ski lodge.

‘Gary’s right. I’m under-equipped to try and go to what must be the source of the fog. May as well check out what these readings coming from the ski lodge are.’ RynoZodiac thought, as he left the comfort of the Clock Tower secret base in search of some clues. On the way to the ski lodge, RynoZodiac saw some of the penguins behaving differently. All of them seemed to be obsessed with water. Empty water bottles, broken pipes, discarded water balloons littered the area, with penguins crowded around each other, talking feverishly amongst each other. RynoZodiac decided to see if he could figure out what they were talking about, and as he drew closer, he heard a few words repeated several times. ‘……NEWSPAPER….DOJO…….SENSEI….WATER….NINJA’. ‘Water ninja? OH GOD NOT THIS AGAIN!’ RynoZodiac had bad memories of the time that the island seemed obsessed with non-existant fire ninjas. All the penguins gathered annoyingly hot items, singing RynoZodiac as they walked by aimlessly. Worst of all, one of them managed to squirt RynoZodiac in the eye with hot sauce, blinding him for a week. ‘There’s no way I’m letting something like that happen again, I need some eyewear.’ RynoZodiac looked through the items littering the floor, looking for something that could pass as eyewear. ‘Nope, nothing here. Now what do I do?’. RynoZodiac looked around for a solution, and saw a penguin wearing goggles and a snorkel. ‘That works.’ RynoZodiac said as he grabbed a broken pipe and hit the penguin in the back of the head with full force. RynoZodiac looked around, wondering if anyone noticed his savage attack on an innocent penguin. No response. A few talked about something called ‘AUTO DISCONNECT’, but apart from that, nobody acted any differently. ‘Well that’s good to know.’ RynoZodiac thought, as he looked around, seeing if any of the other penguins had anything worthwhile to steal. ‘Guess the goggles and snorkel will do… for now.’ RynoZodiac said, as he grabbed the snorkel set off the unconscious penguin. At least RynoZodiac thought he was unconscious. ‘Well, no time to check!’, RynoZodiac said, as he walked off into the distance, ready to face whatever was in the Ski Lodge, even a crazed penguin with a hot sauce bottle. Eventually, RynoZodiac arrived at the Ski Lodge, hearing a gentle roar coming from inside. RynoZodiac grabbed a snowball, ready to attack whatever was inside. As he slowly opened the door, he noticed a machine with a white MP3000 inside it. ‘Hey, that looks like it could come in handy. Maybe it has some useful applications.’. As he went to collect it, the machine showed a message saying ‘YOU NEED 100 STAMPS TO UNLOCK’. ‘Hmm… it must mean those damn things those penguins were going on about before. Looks like it’s time for me to start collecting these stupid things.’. As RynoZodiac exited the Ski Lodge, a massive polar bear grabbed him with enormous strength and started running to an unknown location. As RynoZodiac struggled, the polar bear said ‘Don’t worry, everything’s going to be all right…’. Suddenly, with a huge burst of strength, RynoZodiac managed to struggle free and ran as fast as he could. ‘WAIT!’ The polar bear screamed, as RynoZodiac kept running until the polar bear was out of sight. As soon as RynoZodiac caught his breath, he looked around to see where he had ended up. He was at the recycling plant. ‘Well before I get out of here, I should probably see if there’s something here to help me.’ RynoZodiac looked around, and noticed a pair of boots at the top of the pile, ready to be chewed up by the machine. ‘I’ll take those.’ RynoZodiac said, as he threw a carefully aimed snowball, knocking both of the boots off just in time for the rest of the pile to be turned into some sort of ringed statue. ‘Alright. I’m ready to continue my journey.’

What should RynoZodiac do?
